Student Information

The Department is housed in historic Charleston single houses with attractive piazzas and gardens.  Students are encouraged to use these facilities.  The Department has a lounge/conference room and a kitchen in 14 Glebe, for use by students and faculty.  The New York Times is delivered daily and we also subscribe to Philosophy Now – a magazine of philosophical ideas.  There is a bulletin board for notices of interest to students and faculty.  The lounge is used for Philosophy Club meetings, study groups and review sessions, and is available as a quiet place for students to study at off hours.  The Philosophy Department is relatively small and informal.  You will find its professors accessible and helpful.  Our facilities are intended to serve as an academic “home” for our students, and we hope that you make good use of them.
